1. Purpose of the Retreat

This retreat offers participants the opportunity to engage in traditional Bwiti-inspired Iboga ceremonies for personal healing, self-discovery, and spiritual exploration.

The facilitators are trained and experienced in the ceremonial use of Iboga and in supporting participants through the process. They are not licensed medical or mental health professionals. The retreat is not a substitute for medical or psychiatric care.

2. Nature of the Iboga Experience

I understand that:

-Iboga is a powerful plant medicine with intense physical and psychological effects.

-The experience can include deep introspection, vivid visions, emotional processing, and physical detoxification symptoms.

-Iboga can affect the cardiovascular system and nervous system, and therefore carries medical risks, especially for individuals with certain health conditions or on specific medications.

-The facilitators’ role is to hold space and provide traditional and integrative support, not to diagnose, treat, or cure any medical or psychological condition.

3. Medical Disclosure and Screening

I affirm that:

-I have completed a full medical intake and screening form, disclosing all relevant health information, including heart conditions, mental health history, and any medications, supplements, or substances I am currently using.

-I understand that certain conditions and substances are contraindicated with Iboga, and that honesty in this process is critical for my safety.

-I have taken an ECG (heart test) and general health check before participating.

-I take full responsibility for any consequences arising from the information I provide or withhold.

4. Agreement to remain on property

I agree that:

-Once I have ingested Iboga, I will not leave the property or ceremony space until facilitators confirm that it is safe to do so

-This is for my own safety and wellbeing, as Iboga alters physical coordination and perception.

-If I choose to leave against guidance, I do so entirely at my own risk and release all facilitators, organizers, property owners, and staff from any liability for my safety or actions beyond that point.

5. Trust in the process & tradition

I understand & agree to:

-Enter this experience with respect for the Bwiti tradition and the teachings connected to the Iboga medicine.

-Trust the process of the medicine and the guidance of the facilitators.

-Participate with humility, patience, and openness to learning.

Honor the ceremonial space, others in attendance, and the sacred nature of the work.

6. Acknowledgement of Risk

I acknowledge that Iboga carries inherent physical and psychological risks, including (but not limited to):

-Nausea, vomiting, tremors, changes in blood pressure.

Emotional or psychological challenges

-Physical fatigue or unsteadiness.

-I accept full responsibility for my participation and for any risks involved. I release and hold harmless the facilitators, retreat organizers, volunteers, property owners, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from my participation.

7. Conduct and Confidentiality

I agree to:

-Maintain confidentiality about other participants and their experiences.

-Refrain from using alcohol, recreational drugs, or other non-approved substances before and during the retreat.

-Respect the guidance of facilitators and the boundaries of the ceremonial space.

-Not record or photograph ceremonies without explicit permission.

8. Consent & Release

By signing this form, I confirm that:

-I am of legal age and mentally competent to give consent.

-I have read and fully understand the nature of the Iboga experience and the associated risks.

-I have had the opportunity to ask questions and receive answers.

-I am participating voluntarily and assume full responsibility for my wellbeing.

-I release and discharge the facilitators, retreat organizers, property owners, and affiliates from any and all liability related to my participation.
